Glossary

Allusion : Reference to matters outside of literary work. e.g. people, events, myths, biblical

Hyperbole : Over-exaggeration not to be taken literally. Creates humour/emphasises a point.

Pardox : A situation is created which cannot possibly exist, because different elements of it cancel each other out.

Parallelism : Use of similar or identical structure, language, events, or ideas in different parts of a text.

Persona : The "voice" of a poem (basically a narrator); not to be confused with the actual poet.


Feed - M.T Anderson

What's it focus on? : consumerism, overconsumption, fash fashion, capitalism, control, advertising, the idea of companies having so much power.

Language :- Main character Titus uses slang, informal, "unintellectual" words and language, showing how "the feed" has incredible influence over him whereas Violet doesn't use slang and talks less brainrotty i guess, showing how shes less affected by "the feed".
